Australian Open Team Trials (Pete’s in the finals now)

The quarter finals and semi finals of the Australian Open team trials have now concluded. The final will see team HOLLANDS vs team BILSKI

HOLLANDS: Pete Hollands, Justin Howard, Andrew Peake, Peter Gill, David Beauchamp and Matthew Thomson.

BILSKI: Gabi Lorentz, Stephen Burgess, Sartaj Hans, Tony Nunn, Liam Milne and Nye Griffiths.

The winner will represent Australia at next year’s Zone 7 Championships in Seoul and also the Bermuda Bowl in France.

This week’s featured lesson: Let’s play slam

This week Laura will talk about the quirks of declaring a slam rather than a part score or game contract. Often it’s hard to see the problems in a slam contract because you have so many winners/so few losers. Some people also find that they become quite nervous declaring slams or really struggle if they are under time pressure due to taking more time in the auction. Join in live to learn some useful tricks for declaring slams.
